#95- Take Sian and Fiona to the Agricultural Museum in Jackson

#95- Take Sian and Fiona to the Agricultural Museum in Jackson: Goal completed 9/12/09

Sian, Fiona, and I spent the day at the Agricultural Museum for the Celtic Fest. They got a HUGE kick out of the whole thing. They were really impressed with the museum, especially the train, and they loved the horses and other animals in the petting zoo. They liked the Celtic Fest too. Fiona kept telling me she was having fun at the vegetable (apparently “festival” is too much of a mouthful for a four-year-old) Sian got to try on chain mail and experiment with weaving on a loom, and Fiona was sooo excited about the Irish Dancing.

It was a lot of fun for me too, because I hadn’t been to the museum in ages- the last time I went was the summer John and I first started dating (we went for the Celtic Fest then too). I have to admit, though, that the festival itself isn’t nearly as good as it used to be. Jackson used to have an Irish Festival in the spring, and Highland Games in the fall, and they combined them. It lost a lot of the fun then. No more sheep dog trials or caber tossing, and not a single food booth had any traditional foods!
