Scout Sunday

Today was Scout Sunday at St. Patrick’s. I’m not really sure what that was supposed to mean, other than that Sian was supposed to wear his cub scout uniform to Mass (so he did) and our family brought the gifts down the aisle (since he is one of the only ones who did wear his unoform)

Not a lot of kids came in uniform, and they didn’t do a whole lot to acknowledge that Scout Sunday was anything special. They had some scouting things set up outside the church, and wanted the kids to stand around in the cold for awhile so people could see them.

Sian loved it though. He felt pretty special with the whole thing, so I guess that’s all that matters!

  1. We didn’t have a lot of acknowledgement last year either. My husband and I were out of town so my son went to church with his grandma. This year I am working with our Pastor a little more to see what the scouts can do to help the church on Scout Sunday. It may just be sharpening all the pencils and the families bringing cookies. I don’t know.

I hope your son is enjoying his wolf year. Mine is.
